Can we please start treating AI companies as threat actors?

They already took down the notabug web interface: https://notabug.org/

Yesterday’s report from the diligent infrastructure people at #GNU paints a grim picture of the behavior of those companies: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2026-03/msg00044.html

That’s a DoS funded by venture capital which just happens to take out competitors of Github -- owned by Microsoft, a major shareholder of OpenAI:

I think this coincided with an AI Scraper and botnet army abuse wave
that happened recently.  These attacks are continuous but they keep
mutating and evading our blocks on them forcing us to continuously be
adapting

This recent one is notable because before we reacted to it the abuse
filled the /var/log with 12 GB of noise and filled the disk to 100%.
At 100% full disk this caused errors trying to create new temporary
files in /tmp which is on / on that system.  This disk is separate
