Like most people who have to engage with the #climatecrisis every day, I am sometimes overwhelmed by grief, despair or dread. As I often say, the best antidote to these feelings is action! But I couldn't really be more active & I'm still affected regularly.
In 2019 I did a thing which really helped, which was to try to practice gratitude in relation to the climate crisis every day, by thanking others who are helping in some way. I am going to try to do this again in 2023. https://twitter.com/crisortunity/status/1080235464509018112?s=20&t=PRSNHHidw1JqMBmuoSzztQ
Today’s thank you is for teen champion runner Innes Fitzgerald for matching her actions with her values and turning down a chance for sporting glory in exchange for a clean conscience on climate. I’d reflect that the abuse she’s had since making her stand are what is really meant by ‘flight shaming’; nobody is running a campaign to shame frequent flyers. But they *feel* attacked by this https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/jan/26/runner-gb-australia-climate-innes-fitzgerald-cross-country
