I was wondering how I can follow hashtags on #Friendica and I did some searching. Apparently
the #ActivityPub protocol doesn't allow hashtag following in the sense that all posts with that tag get into your timeline.
Didn't find much about that on the internet Can somebody confirm this? This would explain why Friendica doesn't do it either.

"All posts with that tag" is an ambiguous phrase. Friendica allows you to get in your timeline all the posts with that tag that it knows about. No Friendica node has a complete knowledge of all the posts shared within the Fediverse, you have to contend with what your local node knows about, which is based on the public posts local users receive or like @Michael Vogel said, posts that are received via a relay server.
