if your wearing a cloak of invisibility in a dark room, and you turn on a lantern under the cloak to see. Does it actually cast light?

This broke my brain in a Ravenloft game a long while back. And the "invisible light" problem erupts to the forefront of my brain still every so often.

The narrativist in me says "Yes." The simulationist in me says "Hell No".
