Maybe unpopular opinion, but I kind of wish #Pokemon games would chase Animal Crossing more than Breath of the Wild.
Listening to the my Nintendo podcasts this morning, as they talk about battling gyms in any order. And im a little kinda non plussed by that?

Like reshuffling and leveling my team for the gym your not entirely ready for is the bulk of the strategy to the main game.

Id rather they focus on new novel ways to interact with pokemon in an open world style, than make the battling open world. If that makes any sense.
Feels like it leads to a shift where one could go "okay, I don't have a fire type yet. Let's avoid the grass gym for now and go against the water gym which will be hella easier right now" instead of "Oh im going up against the grass gym, how do I not have a fire-type yet? Time to grab one and level it."

Maybe it's a small change in emphasis, and im prejudging. But it still doesn't feel like a change I necessarily needed? And would still prefer them to chase other directions instead?
