Another passion of mine is modern boardgames, This wouldn’t usually be my thing (as not a fan of #UpstairsDownstairs #DowntonAbbey or #Bridgerton) but I’m captivated by this…one might almost say…obsessed (ho hum) #Obsession #Boardgame

@emmahunneyball
#Obsession is a great game. (I am a fan of #HistoricalDramas although I hate the idea of the class system) We are big on.#BoardGames). I was initially skeptical of this game because I worried it would be "too heavy" (complex) for us. However, we really like the way the mechanics of the game make sense thematically. It makes the game easier to learn (and teach).

I’ll have to have a go: it’s got a solo mode which is good. Having a solo mode is a pre-requisite for a game entering my collection.
I'm personally not into solo myself (tried it but it wasn't for me), but I think it's necessity for any games published. For me, to add a #BoardGame to my collection, it has to play well with 2 as I play mostly with just my husband, occasionally with more.
my immediate family aren’t keen on board games, so I mostly play solo unless I can get out to a local group.
You have my sympathy Emma. I grew up on board games and love them. But not Risk - that too often ends up as real warfare in my family.
I sometimes wonder if the family warfare of some of the classic games (like Monopoly) ends up putting people off board games. Whenever I teach Pandemic people are pleasantly surprised at what can be achieved when a game is co-operative and doesn’t focus on destroying your nearest and dearest!
