:fediverse: Tiny Fediverse Family Sketches

I'm still penciling on the next episode of Pepper&Carrot, and this week, I did my daily warm-up before working on the pages with these sketches. Here is a cleaned compilation of them (credits in alt).

#MastoArt #krita #sketches
Pleroma-chan, a tiny fox girl (pleroma.social) chase happily a squid, Sepia (joinpeertube.org). This last one is affraid and run.
License: CC-By davidrevoy.com, pleroma.social Fred, a firefox panda mascot I found for Pixelfed (pixelfed.org, inspired by artist Andy Cuccaro) panic on the back of a large whale smiling with headphones (https://funkwhale.audio/). These two are not official mascot, just approximation with random quick search.
License: ??? (for Fred), my whale with headphones is an invention.
Rȯse a fennec-fox (joinmobilizon.org) make some balance exercice on top of a roll and a plank, she is in full focus, eye closed. A squid, Sepia (joinpeertube.org) applaud at the scene with heart in their eyes.

License: CC-By davidrevoy.com AI, Misskey mascot, a girl with a Japanese student uniform and cat ears pets on the head a tiny mastodon creature, this one is happy.
License: CC-By davidrevoy.com. Misskey by Syuilo ( https://github.com/syuilo/ai/commit/15406d0f30c134e641267795e6eb6cc46a66888a ) under a MIT license as far as I can tell... ((It's really hard to find license info for Ai on Misskey... Not cool -_-)) The Mastodon is not looking like the official mascot, just a cartoony Mastodon.
Is that Misskey's Ai-chan petting a little Mastodon? So cute!
@adiz Yes, I put full credit in the 'alt' image description. 🙂
So cuute and so funny!
I'll have to know more about Fred 🐼
The more I look at Rȯse, the less I see differences in the "fluffy cheeks" with my #SymphonieEnChatMajeur :blobcatheart:
A long-hair cat is sleeping in her round cat bed. She is brown tabby with white on her nose. The fur around her face is going in two big pointy shapes on each side of her face.
She's really cute.
@Petit_Lutin :blobcatheart: True, Symphonie is magnificient.
About Fred, the only thing I found was this one https://andycuccaro.artstation.com/projects/PmVrbo . Andy was on Pepper&Carrot IRC chat a month or two ago, and he is probably around here too. I'll check to know the source later. I'm curious too why this one is ... A firefox Panda. With Firefox around and so many animals to pick in nature, it doesn't sound like the best choice, but 'why not' at the same time. 🤣
:blobcatheart:

Ah thanks! Yes, there may be confusion with Firefox, but Fred is really cute though 😁
Love it, where can I find the story?
please start a #fediverse series or short comic strip, that would be so amazing!😀
fucking genius!!! I love these especially the whale pic. Amazing!!! Please keep them coming. They inspire me!! Such happy vibe in each still.
Amazing. I would love to get better at drawing. What do you use for drawing? Do you think an iPad could help?
@kafran Hey, Thanks! I'm personally avoiding anything Apple does for ethical reasons, so I'll not advise it (but I put in same bag Google/Microsoft/etc).

Here I use a Linux system (Fedora) with a wacom tablet. Unfortunately, devices with Linux on it, lightweight like an iPad and with a good stylus still doesn't exists. So I work on a big PC tower, a desk and a large monitor. I hope one day, a solid tablet with good performances and a good stylus will exist.
I was living like that a long time ago then I just gave up and now I have everything Apple. It started with the MacBook since I was loosing too much time to have a nice customer desktop experience on Linux. Then the same happened on Android. Now I only miss the iPad with the pen. I have a small Wacom table connected to the Mac. I tried Krita, but I’m living an existential crisis if I should developer raster or vector drawing skills.
@kafran I wish you good luck to find the solution to your struggle. Maybe let your feeling of "fun" and "curiosity" be your guide or compass in this quest. 🙂
yep, that’s the main reason I try to draw becausing my drawings are only for fun and self amusement 😂, I don’t think anybody else would appreciate my 4 years old style.
I have to admit I love yours drawings.
@echedeylr Oh, I don't know this mascot, can you point me a page where it has description and license?
@echedeylr Oh.... "Sloth logo by Anna Abramek, Copyright (C) 2021-2023 the GoToSocial Authors." Sorry, if it is proprietary culture, I'm not touching it 😔
@echedeylr 🙏 Thank you! that would be too bad if community can't reuse tiny cute sloth. ☺️
@echedeylr Good, AGPL is maybe good for the code (eg. the SVGs/bitmap) but for a character and a culture the CC-By-Sa to "gotosocial.org" could be a better choice for getting derivatives and reusage of the mascot. I have no idea how to use the AGPL for artistic content; but I know it's a recursive free/libre, so it seams to be into the same philosophy as CC-By-Sa.
@echedeylr Heya! The sloth logo + the other logos are currently licensed under AGPLv3 solely because it didn't really occur to us to license them under anything else 😁

We'll investigate licensing them as (most likely) CC-By-Nc-Sa and update the repo when we figure out how to do that properly.

In the meantime feel free to remix + reuse the sloth under the assumption of CC-By-Nc-Sa, if you wanna 😀
@gotosocial @echedeylr
Thanks! But I'm not touching "NC" content for my art, I'm compatible with CC-By or CC-By-Sa or Art Libre, but that's all. But I respect your choice.
It's nice to find them here 💜 I saw the title in my feed reader but your site was down and couldn't see the images.
