Lightwork
A speedpainting inspired by Devin Townsend's 2022 music album. I'll go to his concert tomorrow in Toulouse! Lightwork Tour. I listen to his music since 2000. I can't wait!

A digital painting illustration with advanced shading and dense brush work. A lighthouse is in the center of the piece, under the attack of a kraken and waves of the ocean. On a rock in foreground, the silhouette of Pepper and Carrot, watching the scene.

The scene is inspired by elements of the music album "Lightwork" by Devin Townsend (more symbolic and flat on the cover album, and not shaded).

love that album πŸ–€
I’ll totally send this to my Cthulhu group! Thank you!
Awesome painting and a very nice album. I named my son after him, because I like his music so much :blob_smile_sweat: His third name is Devin.
@rolle :blobaww: Wow! That's really cool.
The concert was great and he really played a lot of song from my youth around the Infinity period: Bad Devil, Truth, or from the start of 2000s, like The Fluke, Deadhead, Kingdom, it was so cool!
Have fun!! I'll see him on Saturday next week 😍
@tobkum Hey! πŸ™‚
Oh nice, have fun! (his schedule on this Tour is so dense, he play every evening or almost in March... Amazing.) I loved it yesterday, he made the show feels very special for our room. Such a generous artist. That was simply G R E A T 🀩
Oh wow, you're gonna witness THE 'Wall Of Sound'!
I'm so jealous 😍
Enjoy it for us all that can't make it!
@greenpete I confirm about the wall of sound. Maybe not as perceptible on his newest songs, but as soon as he started 'Truth' from infinity, I felt the mix of dozens of sample plus the instrument on stage, it was thick and massive. I loved it!
I would love to experience that.
Did you follow him when he called himself 'Strapping Young Lad'?
An amazing musician and seems like a nice person.
@greenpete I really got introduced to him with Infinity in 2000, and the album became my fav. Then I simply completed my collection with everything around already published (so Ocean Machine and Physicist at that time, and after that I completed year after year the new albums. I never went back on Strapping Young Lad, (or Punky Bruster) I'll try it πŸ™‚
I'm not sure about Punky BrΓΌster, not my thing, but S.Y.L. was good.
I forget about the comedy and characters, he's very creative!
awesome! Would love to see him live!

I'm a big fan of Devin the person, but I'm sorry to say I haven't listened to anywhere near enough of his music. I know the bigger hits like Deadhead, Kingdom, Death of music.

I was and still am a huge fan of Vai's Sex & Religion though!
@Raithmir The concert was super! And he played Kingdom and Deadhead (and also Truth and Bad Devil from Infinity); I was surprised the content was so dense about his 1997 to 2005 (to my biggest pleasure, that's the song of my youth). A lot of well done fan service for his legacy fan base. He really studied a good playlist. 🀩
❀️
The album is playing here right now! Enjoy the concert.
@pxls Thanks! The concert was great 🀩
It remembers me the old covers from Segrelles and #Elmercenario, very good work
