@Hypolite Petovan Thank you! The content warning text I assume is just before the abstract tags and the content of the tags is that which will be censured?
What if I want content that is not part of the content warning after the content warning? Can I wrap the content warning and then continue the post after the wrapped content warning somehow?
On Mastodon, the whole post is part of the content warning. If you want custom sections whose visibility you can toggle, please use the [spoiler] BBCode although it won't work outside of Friendica.
@Norz And spoiler is discarded for mastodon, right? So theoretically one could wrap a spoiler inside an abstract to get the effect on both friendica and mastodon right? The only matter is the header of the content warning then, because it is in the tag for the abstract. Is there a way to send something only to friendica, does it respond to an abstract=friendica or something?
No, the abstract is based on the protocol used, so it would be [abstract=dfrn] for Friendica but it wouldn't work reliably since DFRN is the legacy protocol we are moving away from in favor of ActivityPub.
And another follow up question, when doing this the button to toggle the visibility of the context doesn't seem to be available when looking at the preview. Is that expected behaviour?
So there's no way to make content warnings that work in both friendica and mastodon? That is to say other friendica users will not see the content warning, but mastodon users will? And yet if mastodon federates the same message feature in a message friendica users will render it as a content warning?

Oh so Mastodon can only do whole posts that uses content warning?
I see.
Well how spoiler is used is far superior.
Thank you for your time and effort in answering my questions.
Norz
The text to fold should be after the tag, see examples here:
https://forum.friendi.ca/help/BBCode#Abstract+for+longer+posts
NB: afaik, #abstract (content warning) is discarded on Friendica: you’ll only see its effect on Mastodon side

But I can't guarantee it'll work, you have to experiment.
