#Blender animators! I have a question:

Do you use the number keys (top row, 1-9) to switch between collections in your scene, while in pose mode?

We may map those keys to other functions, but first I want to know how many people actually use their current behaviour while animating.

  • I never use those keys (100%, 5 votes)
  • I use them, but not in pose mode (0%, 0 votes)
  • I use them occasionally in pose mode (0%, 0 votes)
  • I use them frequently in pose mode (0%, 0 votes)

Just a side note to give also another perspective on the too-often assumption that the top row 1-9 numbers is common everywhere on keyboards. It's not. It's a Qwerty thing (and its derivatives). On French Azerty keyboard, I have: &é"'(-è_çà in the top row and need to press Shift+these keys in order to print a number. That makes often the presets made by default Qwerty-based/designed keyboard shortcut obsolete 🙂 I remind you that just in case a full feature would rely on that.
@davidrevoy I also have the same type of keyboard, but blender remaps them for shortcuts to just the number keys
@WannesMalfait Ha good. I think I remember that at the time when Blender had the 10 layers mapped to 1-9 (and 0) Qwerty keys, it was difficult for me to do things like Shift+these keys to activate the visibility of multiple layers. But I'm not sure if this souvenir is really something that existed or something that my memory mash-up from various experiences. It was long ago 😀

So, yes 1-9 are often remapped for other keyboards, but trouble starts with modifier + them, afair.
